Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction
Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) and Lamont Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs) will soon clash for lightweight gold.
Their bout headlines a Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) card at the Barclays Center in New York City, NY. Fight fans around the world will be able to catch the action as a pay-per-view on either Prime Video or PPV.com. Davis will be making the second defence of his WBA lightweight title since being promoted to primary titlist.
Ahead of their March 1 clash, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

“I’m going to do me regardless. I think about what I’ve been through and what I’ve lost and go in there and get my man. It’s going to get bad. He’s been talking too much too, so we’ll see Saturday night. You know what I come to do and why I’m here. I don’t want to say too much. I’ll keep it polite. I know there will be fireworks.”
Lamont Roach
“I don’t have much to say,” said Roach. “I’m here to boogie. Saturday night will be a hell of night. I’m coming with my tool bag. I have everything in my tool bag and I got a big bag.”

“Everybody says I’m just here to show up, but when I do show up, I show out. That belt coming out. Hopefully he is bringing his belt too. That belt coming out.”
Fight Prediction
This fight should see Roach win early rounds simply by doing more than his opponent. Davis will bide his time until the right opportunity appears for the knockout blow. Expect the fight to end sometime during the middle rounds. Davis toretain his WBA lightweight title via stoppage.
