Stacked Undercard Revealed for Dmitry Bivol vs. Artur Beterbiev on October 12

On October 12, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) will face off against Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs) for the undisputed light heavyweight crown in a stacked Riyadh Season event. This fight is one of the most highly anticipated bouts in recent memory, with these hugely talented pugilists going head to head. The undercard for this event has now been revealed, and it’s an impressive collection of talented fighters. I think it’s what some people like to call stacked.

Bivol vs. Beterbiev to Headline Stacked Undercard

These two undefeated light heavyweight champions were due to meet on June 1 before Beterbiev suffered a ruptured meniscus in training. Despite the injury to his opponent, Bivol elected to stay active and still fought on the 5v5 card against Mailk Zinad, winning by sixth-round stoppage.

Before the original fight date, both fighters opened the press conference for the 5v5 reveal, with Bivol saying: “[It’s] a great fight not only for me, but for boxing fans.” He added: “Saudi Arabia will make this fight and thank you for this. When I signed a contract to be a pro boxer, I had a goal to be undisputed champion.”

Its difficult to envisage Beterbiev having much more to say than he did at the original press conference: “I’m happy to be here, it’s not the first time… I see another belt…. I’m collecting belts and I need one more,” said the WBC, WBO and IBF champion.
