Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr. Hold Virtual Press Conference
Former world champions Vasiliy Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) and George Kambosos Jr. (21-2, 10 KOs) held a virtual press conference to announce their clash for the vacant IBF lightweight title.
The two will meet on May 12 (May 11 for those in the United States) in the main event of a card promoted by DiBella Entertainment, Top Rank, Ferocious Promotions, TEG Sport and Duco Events. Foxtel, Main Event and Kayo will be the broadcasters for those in Australia. ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ will carry Lomachenko-Kambosos in the United States. The venue for the card will be the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.

Lightweight Championship Clash Formally Announced
Lomachenko and Kambosos hosted a virtual press conference Tuesday evening, which confirmed rumours of their impending clash. “Ferocious” was in Perth, while “Loma” participated via satellite from Los Angeles. Below is just some of what was said by the two men.

“I’m very happy to come back. I’m very happy to be fighting there. This is the right fight because it’s a chance to be a world champion again. And I’ve never been to Australia. I’ve always wanted to go, and it’s a good opportunity.”

George Kambosos Jr.
“I never step away from a challenge. I always want to fight the best. And Vasiliy Lomachenko is a guy we have looked at for a very long time. This guy is a legend. The respect we have for him is huge. So, to have this official now is extraordinary. I’m very motivated for this fight. I’m very excited, and I can’t wait.”
