Top Rank Announce Signing of ‘Sensational Talent’

Top Rank have announced that the undefeated junior lightweight southpaw prospect Jalen Walker (12-0-1, 10 Kos) has signed a long-term promotional contract with them, with a fight date of April 13 set against Alejandro Guerrero in Corpus Christi, Texas – with the card streamed on ESPN+

Walker will make his debut for Top Rank on April 13 on the undercard of Jared Anderson vs. Ryad Merhy, with prospect Julian Delgado set to also appear on the bill at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The opponent for “Sky” will be Guerrero (12-4, 9 KOs) in an eight-round bout.

When asked about the signing of Walker, Bob Arum said: “Jalen Walker is a sensational talent who I believe will soon be among the top 130-pound contenders.”

Walker could not hide his delight at the deal: “I am very excited and looking forward to working with Top Rank, a company that promoted Muhammad Ali and guided the careers of fighters such as Floyd Mayweather Jr., Oscar De La Hoya, Manny Pacquiao, and many more. With hard work, dedication, and the Top Rank team behind me, I will be amongst those names!”

Charlie Sims of Huge Project Management also spoke on the deal: “As a team, we are delighted to be working with Top Rank.”  He continued: “Jalen is an amazing talent and now he has the platform in Top Rank to showcase his ability. It’s time to show the world what he can achieve.”

Walker was born in Los Angeles and began boxing at seven, amassing an impressive amateur record of 108-13. He then made his professional debut – in November 2019 and stopped his first six opponents. After a draw against Angel Antonio Contreras, “Sky” has bounced back, going 4-0 with three KOs, including an impressive stoppage of Jorge Villegas last time out.
