As for Fundora, he said on Thursday in California,
“I can guarantee the fans get their money’s worth. We put on a great show every single time, but now that I’m headlining my own show, I’m really going to make sure I put it all on the line. Plus, with my sister on the card, it’s just more motivation to perform.
“I’m excited to be in this position. I’ve fought on a lot of big undercards as well and now it’s my time to take center stage.

Meanwhile, Ocampo would love nothing more than to pull the shocker. He told the media gathered,
“I’m feeling better than ever right now. I’m ready for what’s going to be a great challenge. This is going to be a war on Saturday night. You have to take the opportunities that you’re given. I know that Fundora is a strong fighter, but I’m going to be ready for him.
My goal is to wake up on Sunday morning and have it be the happiest day of my life. I want to party with that belt on Saturday night. “
Thursday’s press conference also featured top middleweight Juan Macias Montiel, who squares off against Carlos Adames for the Interim WBC Middleweight Title in the co-main event, plus IBF Junior Bantamweight World Champion Fernando Martinez and former world champion Jerwin Ancajas, who meet in a rematch that kicks off the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® telecast at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
The event also saw rising unbeaten flyweight prospect Gabriela Fundora, the younger sister of headliner Sebastian, as she prepares to kick off a three-fight live streaming presentation on the SHOWTIME SPORTS YouTube channel and SHOWTIME Boxing Facebook page at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT in a 10-round fight against Mexico’s Naomi Reyes.
