Rolly Romero One On One And Fight Previews

We get ready for three world title fights in both Las Vegas and Stockton, CA, and our guys are primed to go over that, hear from one of the participants, Rolando “Rolly” Romero, one on one, plus, they talk fight news, and some Felix “Tito” Trinidad nostalgia on the “Big Fight Weekend Preview” podcast.

Host T.J. Rives is back with insider Dan Rafael of BigFightWeekend.com to talk about it all. That includes hearing from Romero who will battle veteran Ismael Barroso for the vacant WBA 140 lb. title, in the Showtime Boxing/PBC main event from Vegas.

They also discuss the return of Janibek Alimkhanuly of Kazakhstan to defend his WBO Middleweight title in the Top Rank Boxing/ESPN main event in Stockton, CA vs. Canadian Steve Butler. Is Janibek the best middleweight currently and what does an impressive showing lead to for his short term? Dan also has thoughts on Australian Jason Moloney going for the WBO vacant bantamweight title in the co-feature, as he takes on Vincent Astrolabio in a third bid to win a world title.

There’s also fight news involving Regis Prograis and his new multi-bout deal with Matchroom Boxing/DAZN, English heavyweight Joe Joyce wanting to rematch China’s Zhilei Zhang later this Summer and WBO interim 154 lb. champ Tim Tszyu will fight veteran Carlos Ocampo coming up, instead getting the huge shot with injury rehabbing, undisputed champ Jermell Charlo.

Finally, Dan shares tremendous nostalgia from being ringside 22 years ago for hall of famer Felix “Tito” Trinidad’s destruction of William Joppy at Madison Square Garden in May 2001. Dan describes the festive atmosphere outside the Garden and then, partisan Puerto Rican mayhem that was in that building willing Trinidad on, inside MSG, too.
