Soumaoro (12-1, 5 KOs) born in Guinea and fighting out of Montreal, Canada, is on a two-fight win streak. His last fight was a unanimous decision win against undefeated Jusiyah Shirley on December 2 at the ProBox Events Center.
“Training camp went very well and I feel ready to give a great show to the fans, give a beautiful performance and win the fight,” said Soumaoro. “Vazquez is a young fighter who likes to put the pressure on and will do everything in his power to beat me. However, whatever he brings to the ring on March 22 I will be ready for. I am unlike any other opponent he has faced.
“This win against Vazquez, my first ten-rounder on a Platform like ProBox TV, will be huge for my career. An emphatic win against another undefeated boxer will get my name out there and lead to bigger opportunities.”
Vazquez (12-0, 6 KOs) is from San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. The twenty-two year old made is professional debut in February 2019 and his first eleven fights took place in Mexico. His last bout, his first in the US, was a unanimous decision win over fellow undefeated Nicholas Sullivan.
“I have prepared myself well physically, technically and mentally for this fight,” said Vazquez. “I sparred with top level fighters because I know my opponent has experience and good technique and will bring his all on fight night. The best one to do it on that night will win and I’m feeling real good about it. It will be an interesting fight and the public will enjoy it. I’m going to meet him in the middle of the ring then close the spaces and take him to the ropes where I will throw combinations that do damage.
“This a very good opportunity for me and after this victory against a quality fighter they get me bigger challenges so I can soon fight for titles that place me among the best in the division.”
Also on the three-fight live stream will be undefeated Dominique Valle (5-0, 4 KOs) from Tampa, FL vs Carlos Rosario (5-1, 3 KOs) from Fajardo Puerto Rico in a six-round super featherweight bout and Demontaze Duncan (8-0, 8 KOs) from Louisville, KY will battle Axl Melendez (5-0, 4 KOs) from Ceiba, Puerto Rico in a six-round welterweight bout.
