Frank Warren Reveals Lightweight World Title Dream – Wants It to Happen in the Next 12 Months

The lightweight division continues to be one of the most talked about with stars such as Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson at the forefront. Sam Noakes and Mark Chamberlain are two undefeated British lightweight stars, with Frank Warren wanting to make an intriguing fight between the two for a world title in the next 12 months.

Frank Warren Wants to Make All British World Title Lightweight Fight

Noakes and Chamberlain are fast making a name for themselves in the lightweight divisions, with both possessing impressive knockout power, alongside their ability to pick punches and take their opponents apart. Noakes most recent fight was his dominating win against Yvan Mendy to win the European championship to the British and Commonwealth strap. His next fight is scheduled to be against Gianluca Cegila on September 6.

Chamberlain has impressed in his last two fights, stopping Gavin Gwynne and Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab on Riyadh Season cards. The Portsmouth fighter is a favourite of His Excellency and will appear on the September 21 card against Josh Padley.

Frank Warren Talks Desire to Make Chamberlain vs. Noakes

Talking about Noakes and then moving on to Chamberlain-Noakes, Warren said: “He’s a lovely guy as well. He’s one of the guys that we all like at Queensberry and there are some big fights to be made for him down the road. Him and Mark Chamberlain is a fight that I’m sure over the next 12 months is going to build into being a monster.” 

Warren continued: “I think it’ll happen in the next 12 months. What I’d like it to be is for a world title fight,” Warren continued. “They’re there to be able to go and do it, both of them. It’d be nice if they could both win a world title and then have a unification. That’d be my dream.”

A potential fight between Noakes and Chamberlain is a fascinating prospect and a genuine 50/50 fight, and making it for a world title would just add an extra layer of intrigue. What a fight this could be. Over to you Mr Warren.
