It was a hugely impressive performance against a world-class opponent.
Cristian Gonzalez

Israel Gonzalez
Rodriguez faced a tough test on September 17, 2022, as he faced the resilient Israel Gonzalez at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In the early rounds, Bam got in close, closing the distance well and working away on the inside to good effect, negating the height and reach advantage of his opponent.

Gonzalez mixed his attacks impressively between the body and head. Both fighters went back and forth during the first few rounds, each having their success. Bam had a point deducted in round eight for a low blow. As the fight progressed, his shot selection impressed greatly, as he slowed down a brave Gonzalez, with his crisp combination punching. The scorecards read 118-109, 117-110 and 114-113. The fight was a lot closer than the scorecards suggested, but Bam’s impressive work down the final stretch was enough for him to get the unanimous decision victory.
