The dangerous southpaw is fast becoming one of the most talked about heavyweights in the boxing world, comprehensively stopping Mariusz Wach and McKean in his last two fights. The Australian fighter had only been beaten once in his career, a late stoppage loss against Filip Hrgovic, but Itauma showed just how dangerous he is.

Just before Usyk-Fury 2, it was time for Itauma-Mckean. The exciting 19-year-old showcased his exceptional speed as he mixed his shots well before landing two heavy knockdowns on his opponent, which saw the referee wave the fight off, ensuring the Chatham fighter retained his WBO inter-continental heavyweight title and won the WBA international and Commonwealth silver belts via first-round TKO. Groves Talks Itauma Potential

On the latest GGBC episode, Groves didn’t hold back on his praise for the exceptionally talented Itauma: “Moses Itauma is gonna be the future of the heavyweight division. What he’s doing now at 19 years old is just incredible,” said Groves.

He added: “It is Tyson-esque.”

Groves also discussed just how far Itauma could go with the current crop of top heavyweights: “I think Moses Itauma is a harder fight than Daniel Dubois for Usyk.”
