After Anthony Joshua: Next Step for Francis Ngannou Revealed

On Friday, March 8, Francis Ngannou will meet Anthony Joshua in the main event for “Knockout Chaoas” at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ngannou announced himself in the boxing world, only narrowly losing to Tyson Fury by split decision in his first professional boxing fight. Regardless of the result against AJ, the next step has been confirmed for the ex-UFC star.

Next Step Confirmed for Francis Ngannou

Ngannou Return to MMA Confirmed

Many eyes in the boxing world – are already on the upcoming fight between Ngannou and Joshua. Whatever the outcome on March 8, the next step for “The Predator” has been confirmed, and he will return to MMA.

He has not competed in mixed martial arts since his victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 in January 2022. This was Ngannou’s first defence of his UFC heavyweight championship. Since that fight, he has signed with the PFL and competed in boxing against Fury.

The return to MMA will see “The Predator” face the win of Renan Ferriera vs. Ryan Bader, who will fight this weekend on the PFL vs. Bellator card

Ngannou Boxing and MMA

The return to MMA shows what a phenomenal and adaptable athlete “The Predator” is. Ngannou was 17-3, with 12 wins by KO and four by submission. He possesses plenty of power, as he showed throughout his UFC career, where his right hand ended many fights in a split second. He then showed adaptability by wrestling Gane and using his physical attributes to win that contest by unanimous decision instead of looking for the KO.

In his bout against Fury, Ngannou showcased his power, throwing an overhand left in the final minute of round three, which sent Fury to the canvas, shocking the world. Despite narrowly losing, he showed tremendous belief, heart and boxing ability as he put together nice combinations, which seemed to shock “The Gypsy King.”
