A Monday press conference in London finally made official an event being billed as “Knockout Chaos.” The March 8 card will see former two-time heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) take on former UFC champion Francis Ngannou (0-1 in boxing, 17-3 in MMA) in a 10-rounder. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom Arena, will host the event. This will be yet another card that is part of Riyadh Season, a state-funded entertainment and sports festival.

Ngannou made his professional boxing debut against reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in October 2023. Despite losing a split decision, the Cameroonian received plaudits for a performance that saw him knock down Fury. He now returns to the ring against another top boxing heavyweight.

So, I don’t take my last fight as a reference and think that I get this done, and think that I get everything. You know, I know exactly where I am at. I’m just a beginner. And I’m definitely gonna come out better and, yes, get better and better. So, that’s how I see things. I’m getting prepared for a tough, hard fight.
