Dmitry Bivol

Dmitry Bivol is a phenomenal fighter who memorably upset “Canelo” Alvarez, defeating the Mexican superstar. Despite “Canelo” believing he won the fight, Bivol was the deserved winner. He outlanded his opponent in every single round.

He boxed diligently throughout, picking his punches well, and switched effortlessly between the head and body. Bivol has struggled with injury and will seemingly be relishing the opportunity to face Lyndon Arthur and put on a “Day of Reckoning” masterclass. The Tokmok-born fighter has brilliant footwork – and uses this to control the distance effortlessly in his fights. His balance is also one of his best assets, enabling him to slip punches and counter effectively. Bivol recently spoke to Ring through his manager Vadim Kornilov about the upcoming fight, and said: “This is a good fight for me, for this year.”

Lyndon Arthur

Lyndon Arthur is coming to Riyadh, aiming to cause a monumental upset. He recently spoke to Seconds Out and said: “Beat Dmitry Bivol, my life changes.” The Manchester-born fighter has shown he possesses world-class ability when he defeated Anthony Yarde in 2020.

Arthur has a brilliant jab, and he will need to establish this early on against Bivol to have any chance of being competitive. The British fighter has defeated Boris Crighton and Braian Suarez this year and looked uncomfortable in both fights. He is a brave fighter – and will need to be against the exceptional Bivol.

The Manchester boxer will need to get the jab going early – and showcase his impressive ability to work the body and make Bivol respect his power.

Prediction for Bivol vs. Arthur

In many respects, this looks like a mission impossible for Arthur against the undefeated Bivol. It’s imperative – the Brit gets his jab going early and tries to dictate the pace – to have any chance of making this contest competitive. At Big Fight Weekend, we feel Bivol’s footwork and balance will be too much for the Manchester-born fighter, and we are going for a late stoppage win for the Tokmak-born fighter.
