Big Fight Weekend On-Site for ‘Day of Reckoning’ Grand Arrivals

RIYADH, Dec. 19 – All those taking part in “Day of Reckoning” have now made their way to the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The 16 men were present for grand arrivals on December 19 at Boulevard World in Riyadh. On Saturday, December 23, they fight at the Kingdom Arena. Viewers can catch the action on DAZN as a PPV, while those in the UK and USA can also purchase it on TNT Sports Box Office and ESPN+ respectively.

Big Fight Weekend was also on-site to speak to the fighters. Below is just some of what was said to the media:

Anthony Joshua

AJ” (26-3, 23 KOs) appeared very focused and emphasised his desire to recover when given the opportunity. In an interview with Seconds Out, AJ said:

“I really wanted to rest and recover. I didn’t want to go somewhere where I’m going to meet people, going out for food and talking shit.”

Otto Wallin will be Joshua’s opponent in Riyadh, and he spoke to Dan Rafael recently about his fight against AJ and his feelings about his opponent’s new trainer. 

Deontay Wilder

“I don’t think I need to do anything,” said Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) to Seconds Out. “I don’t wanna put pressure on myself, especially in the second half of my career. I’m just living my life at peace and being happy.”

“The Bronze Bomber” made a confident prediction for his fight against Parker when he spoke to Dan Rafael recently.

Joseph Parker

“This is a must-win,” said Joseph Parker (33-3, 23 KOs) to Big Fight Weekend. “This is a fight that matters. This is the biggest fight of my career, and I need to win impressively.”

Dmitry Bivol

“I think (the) Middle East want to do everything on the highest level,” said WBO light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs) to Big Fight Weekend.

“He [Lyndon Arthur] is [a] good fighter. He has a good jab, good English boxing school, and I wanna check my skill against his skills.”

Daniel Dubois

“He [Jarrell Miller] is an undefeated fighter,” said Daniel Dubois (19-2, 18 KOs) to Big Fight Weekend. “That’s always something you got to look at. It’s a big opportunity – we’re both going for it. Let’s see, I’m ready for it.”

Jarrell Miller

“Imma knock him [Dubois] dead,” said Jarrell Miller (26-0-1, 22 KOs) to Big Fight Weekend. “Do you know what I mean? Just going in, do my job, put pressure on him and beat the breaks off him.”
