Much is expected when Christian Mbilli (27-0, 23 KOs) and Sergiy Derevyanchenko (15-5, 10 KOs) clash in a super middleweight showdown.
The two headline a card promoted by Top Rank and Eye of the Tiger Management at the Centre Vidéotron in Québec City, Canada. “This opportunity for me, I hope is the last step before the world title,” said Mbilli. “I think we’re gonna make a great fight, maybe the fight of the year. I’m very happy to be here. I’m very happy to be in Québec City. This is a very good city. We have good, big fans of boxing here. It will be a great, great, great fight.”

“I like to show that I am the best. I like to show that I am the real monster. We’re going to see who has the best conditioning. The best boxing. For me, [it will be] no surprise. I’m the best.”
Sergiy Derevyanchenko
“This is my fight. GGG, every tough fight, it has given me this opportunity. Opportunity to win,” said Derevyanchenko.
“No, I don’t feel [like I’m being overlooked]. I don’t feel. I feel very feel.”

“I’m ready for [an] aggressive [fight]. I saw him fight. He’s strong. He’s aggressive, but I’m ready.”
Fight Prediction
Mbilli has a style that has gotten him knockouts in 23 of his 27 fights. Derevyanchenko has been knocked down on more than one occasion, but he has always recovered to hear the final bell. “Solide” may be able to knock down the Ukrainian, but it will be difficult to knock him out. Expect a unanimous decision win for Mbilli on Saturday night.
