Canelo Álvarez (61-2-2, 39 KOs) will return to action on September 14 at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, as he defends his WBC, WBA and WBO super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga (22-0, 17 KOs) in a Mexico vs. Puerto Rico clash that will promoted by Canelo Promotions – in association with Matchroom Boxing and shown live on DAZN pay-per-view in all regions except Mexico and LATAM. Fight week is stacked, with both having plenty to say. Many in the boxing world have criticised the choice of opponent – from Canelo, but the unified super middleweight champ has fired back at his critics when speaking to DAZN.

Any time Canelo steps in the ring, many in the boxing world pay attention to the great Mexican. His choice of opponent for September 14 has received criticism in some quarters. Álvarez will face the “Chosen One” in Las Vegas and is seemingly unaffected by any criticism regarding his decision to face Berlanga: “They always say something critical about me,”he told DAZN. He continued: “I fight everybody and no matter what, they say something. So I really don’t care.”
