Joshua vs. Dubois Showdown on Sept 21 – Press Conference Highlights and Fight Predictions

Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) will soon fight each other in front of 96,000 spectators.

Both men will headline a September 21 Riyadh Season card at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live as a pay-per-view on DAZN and PPV.com. Those in the United Kingdom can also do so with TNT Sports and Sky Sports Box Office.

Joshua and Dubois will fight with the IBF heavyweight world title on the lineDubois last fought on June 1 of this year against Filip Hrgović in a fight that had an interim version of the IBF strap. Later on, he was elevated to full titlist when Oleksandr Usyk vacated the IBF title to pursue a Fury rematch. For Dubois, the clash against “AJ” will be his first time defending a world title. On the other hand, Joshua seeks to become a world champion for a third time.

Joshua vs. Dubois is part of Riyadh Season, a Saudi Arabian state-funded entertainment and sports festival. The Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority is responsible for its organization.

Ahead of their clash, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois Press Conference Quotes

Anthony Joshua

“It’s a blessing to be back again [at Wembley Stadium],” said Joshua. “To be able to perform, to prove to myself, prove to my team that I’ve listen to the instructions in training camp and we’re ready to rock and roll and I’m in supreme condition, both physically and also mentally. So, it’s good to be back and I’ve been watching some of the old fights as well. Justadding some fuel to the fire, ready to rumble. Reminding myself of what I can do and what I’m capable of.”

“We’ll find out [what kind of challenge Dubois brings]. We only got a couple hours [sic] left. To everyone that’s gonna be there, you’ll enjoy it, but you’ll find out. I can’t say. I’m not Daniel. All I can do is focus on myself.”

Daniel Dubois

“Everything’s gone well,” said Dubois. “Training camp’s gone brilliant. I’m ready to fight. Let’s go.”

“It’s a resurrection story of my career. I’m just on a roll right now. I just want the biggest challenges and make a name for myself and create history.”

“I’ve always known that [I’m among the best heavyweights currently]. I haven’t got too much to say right now, I’m just ready to go on Saturday. It’s a great show and I just can’t wait to go.”

Fight Prediction

Both men have a history of getting knockout wins, so expect this fight to end via stoppage. While Dubois has done well since his loss to Usyk, he should still have his struggles against the former two-time heavyweight champion. This will be a fight that begins cautiously, but then expect Joshua to take over and win by knockout before round seven.

Quick Undercard Predictions

Anthony Cacace vs. Josh Warrington: UD win for Cacace

Josh Kelly vs. Ishmael Davis: UD win for Davis

Joshua Buatsi vs. Willy Hutchinson: UD win for Buatsi
