Round 1: It wasn’t an exciting first round as Davis was just feinting and looking while Garcia was jabbing and following Davis around the ring. Garcia won the round as he was the more active fighter.

BFW Score:10-9 Garcia

Round 2: Although Garcia was aggressive in the round, Davis caught Garcia with a counter left hook sending Garcia down for the first knockdown of the fight. Garcia got up but was caught being over aggressive which is what led to the knockdown.

BFW Score: 10-8 Davis

Round 3: Davis was the aggressor in this round as he was coming forward and putting the pressure on Garcia. Although he was doing that, Garcia was trying to counter Davis and keep him at a distance with the jab.

BFW Score:10-9 Davis

Round 4: Davis continued coming forward and was landing that lead left hand on Garcia which isn’t good if you are Garcia. Davis is gaining more confidence as the fight moves on.

BFW Score:10-9 Davis

Round 5: It was more of a chess match as Davis was changing levels with his jab while Garcia tried to counter punch him at every moment he could. Davis won the round with the cleaner punches.

BFW Score:10-9 Davis

Round 6: Garcia had a bounce back round as he landed two right hands that landed flush on Davis along with a hard right hook to the body. Davis did land significant straight left hands down the middle to keep Garcia honest but it wasn’t enough to win the round.

BFW Score:10-9 Garcia

Round 7: Davis landed a left hook to Garcia’s chest and after a moment, Garcia took a knee and could not get up as the referee counted to ten.

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis stopped Ryan Garcia in the seventh round in front of a sold out crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The fight showed that these two fighters deserved the hype behind the event as they displayed some high level skills in the ring. Davis’ ring IQ is undeniable and the rapid reaction right now is that you will be hard pressed to find anyone that can beat him at lightweight.
