Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis vs. Ryan Garcia: Predictions & Betting Odds

Big Fight Weekend brings you this exclusive, All-Star celebrity prediction panel for Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis vs. Ryan Garcia.

The time has finally arrived, and instead of doing a traditional prediction panel, I decided to call on celebrities from different industries to give me their take on the mega fight between Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (28-0) and Ryan Garcia (23-0). This fight is unique as it’s the first time in a while that a boxing match crosses over into the pop-culture world. There was talk the other night over an Instagram Live that the two fighters were going to bet their fight purses on the outcome of the fight. That was more so to keep promoting the fight, and they are doing everything to keep people engaged until Saturday night. So with that being said, who are these celebrities picking to win the fight? Will it be ‘Tank’ Davis or ‘KingRy’ Garcia?

GERVONTA ‘TANK’ DAVIS VS. RYAN GARCIA PREDICTIONS

George Foreman (Boxing Hall of Famer): Undecided

Ah, boy. It’s going to be a toss as far as I’m concerned. One guy is one way, and the other guy is another. Let’s face it, probably one of the biggest fights to come onto the scene in a long time; truly competitive. I’m just going to sit there and watch it as a fan. (Big George Foreman is in theaters on April 28.)

Papoose (Head of Hip-Hop, TuneCore & Hip-Hop Artist): Gervonta Davis

It’s a great fight. First and foremost, I want to say that I take my hat off to both of these guys as they wanted to fight each other. Unfortunately, in boxing, it’s not something we get to see when you have two fighters in their prime actually doing what they are supposed to be doing, and that’s fighting each other. I understand it from a political standpoint, but we just want to see the best fight the best. How do I see it? I think ‘Tank’ is going to knock him out. I think ‘Tank’ is going to put him to sleep. (“Makin Plays”- Papoose featuring Jim Jones & Jaquae is out on all digital platforms)

Holt McCallany (Hollywood Actor; MindHunter, Lights Out): Gervonta Davis

I like Ryan Garcia, a quick-handed fighter with superstar potential. But I fear he lacks the big-fight experience to pull off an upset against the power-punching Gervonta Davis. Garcia has a tendency to fight with his chin up, which could cost him against an opponent with a 92% KO rate. I’m taking Davis by late-round stoppage. (Holt appears in the upcoming films, The Iron Claw and Mission Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part Two)

Chase Demoor (Perfect Match on Netflix): Ryan Garcia

Ryan Garcia, all the way. He’s too quick, smart, and agile. ‘Tank’ is getting old; get him outta there (laughs).

Charles Malik Whitfield (Hollywood Actor):  Gervonta Davis

(Ryan) Garcia is a banger, but Gervonta (Davis), we are going to have to see what Baltimore is about. I’m going all in with a Gervonta Davis knockout in the eighth round. (Whitfield’s upcoming projects include Still Here and The Bastard Sons)

Dj Scream (Big Facts Podcast, Dj Scream TV): Gervonta Davis

You know that Ryan Garcia is skilled. This is going to be Gervonta Davis’ toughest test. Coming off of his last couple of fights, I think he (Davis) is just in that space of mastery. He’s going to knock that boy out probably in around seven rounds.

Danny ‘Radio Active Papi’ Limelight (Pro Wrestler, United Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion): Gervonta Davis

My money is always on ‘Tank.’ No one in that division hits harder. Ryan (Garcia) hasn’t shown me he has that killer instinct.

Rsonist from The Heatmakerz (Multi-Platinum Music Producer): Gervonta Davis

I think ‘Tank’ is going to knock him out in about eight or nine rounds. The people that Ryan Garcia has knocked out with one punch are fighters who were willing to exchange with him in the first couple of rounds. ‘Tank’ is smarter than that. Ryan is going to get mentally tired because he’s never been in a fight of this magnitude. He’s going to fatigue mentally, which is why I think ‘Tank’ is going to put him out in round eight or nine.

Bronze Nazareth (Producer, Wisemen, Wu Official Alum): Gervonta Davis

Tank is going to have to be patient. Garcia is fast as hell but I think Davis is going to patient and around the eighth round or so, Garcia might run out of gas. ‘Tank’ is then going to find a spot to place that power.

Lazy Lefty (Founder, ChickenTawk): Gervonta Davis

The upcoming boxing match between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is highly anticipated, with both fighters bringing a strong track record to the ring. My prediction is that Davis will win by seventh-round knockout.

Fernando Quiles Jr. (Big Fight Weekend): Ryan Garcia

It’s easy to see “Tank” landing one big shot to end Ryan Garcia’s night early. It can happen to anyone in Davis’ weight class, quite frankly. My question is, what if “Tank” can’t find Garcia’s chin? I think a lot of people are dwelling on “KingRy’s” early 2021 fight against Luke Campbell, where his footwork left a lot to be desired, and he suffered a knockdown after leaving his chin exposed. In the bouts against Emmanuel Tagoe and Javier Fortuna, Garcia showed vast improvement in his defense and shot selection. I think Davis struggles to land on Garcia upstairs due to his height and reach, leaving him frustrated for 12 rounds. Ryan Garcia via unanimous decision.

Ricky Carroll (Big Fight Weekend):  Gervonta Davis

Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia is one of the highly anticipated fights in the boxing world. I believe “Tank’s” power and aggressive style will lead to a late stoppage between rounds seven through nine.

Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia prediction panel results: 9-2-1 in favor of ‘Tank’.

My Three Cents

This is an intriguing fight, as there is a scenario where both guys could potentially be knocked out. Although many are calling for the knockout, I think we may get some knockdowns, but the fight will result in a decision victory for Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. Both fighters’ careers will not suffer regardless of who loses. Enjoy the show, which gives me ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard vs. Marvelous Marvin Hagler anticipation-type of vibes as we approach fight night.
