Mayweather entourage accused of assault at Super Bowl

Former unbeaten five weight class World Champion, Floyd Mayweather, took in this weekend’s Super Bowl in Miami. And now, he and his entourage are involved in an assault accusation from a fan.

TMZ reported first on Monday afternoon that Mayweather and his bodyguards/”hangers on” are in the middle of a controversy after the fan tried to take a picture with Mayweather Saturday morning:

The individual, 32-year-old Ricco Kimbrough, tells the gossip website that he recognized Mayweather standing with the entourage at the Fountainbleau Hotel Saturday morning. Kimbrough says that he attempted to take a picture with Mayweather, but that Mayweather rebuffed him.

Then, his security team pushed him away while Mayweather yelled, “I’ll beat your ass.”

Mayweather is not being accused of having put his hands on, much less than anything violent, with Kimbrough.

However, Kimbrough has given personal video of the incident to TMZ, where he is clearly trying to get back towards Mayweather in the car valet area after their encounter and being allegedly pushed away. Mayweather is seen starting to get into a waiting SUV, while Kimbrough is being stopped again, by the large bodyguards/security team.

You can clearly hear Mayweather in the audio before getting in the vehicle reply to Kimbrough shouting, “I’ll get all your money, too” with the response, “you can get this ass whooping for free.”

TMZ says Miami Beach Police are investigating Kimbrough’s allegations and are deciding, as to whether anyone might be charged.

Mayweather was in attendance at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV. Here’s a social media video of his attire and accessories and his usual wads of cash that has made the rounds on the internet since last night:

Mayweather has been retired from boxing for over three years with a 50 – 0 record and having won World Championships as a Super Featherweight, Lightweight, Light-welterweight, Welterweight, and Junior Middleweight.

Mayweather has had out of the ring issues in the past, including domestic violence charges and convictions. Mayweather served a little over a month in a Las Vegas jail upon being convicted on one such charge, in late 2011.

Mayweather last fought in August of 2017 against UFC star, Connor McGregor, whom he stopped on a 10th round TKO for his record 50th win without a loss. That bettered former heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano by one win.

Mayweather has hinted that he might return after the 3-year layoff in 2020, and there are rumors that he and current WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao may fight for a second time after their May 2015 Mega fight.

That bout was largely a dud with Mayweather controlling the action with his jab and staying away from Pacquiao who was later revealed to have injured his right shoulder in training and could not do much in the fight. Fight is still the highest grossing pay-per-view in U.S. boxing history and there’s the incentive for why it might happen, again.

Mayweather is about to turn 43 later this month and Pacquiao will be 41 later this year.
