Ryan Garner recent form
Garner (19-0, 10 KOs) remains on the verge of a world title shot. This will be his second fight in 2026, after defeating Cristian Bielma by third-round TKO. Before that, Garner recorded four eye-catching wins against Liam Dillon, Archie Sharp, Salvador Jimenez, and Reece Bellotti.
Michael Magnesi recent form
Magnesi (26-2, 13 KOs) has suffered two defeats in his career, with the most recent a dramatic last-round TKO defeat to Masanori Rikiishi, when he was in front on all three scorecards. His only other loss was a split decision defeat back in 2022 against Anthony Cacace.
Since the Rikiishi loss, Magnesi has won three consecutive fights. Despite being the underdog, he will be coming to Southampton confident that he can cause the upset.
Ryan Garner vs Michael Magnesi prediction
Ryan “The Piranha” Garner brings a high work rate to every fight, which means entertainment for fans but a nightmare for his opponents. Garner is versatile with his tactics, but his ability to pick his punches remains. His footwork is excellent, as is his ability to create angles to attack his opponent.
Magnesi brings plenty of experience and has mixed at a good level. He has pop in his punches, and rarely takes a step back, meaning Ryan Garner vs Michael Magnesi could catch fire early.
We believe Garner will have too much speed and, with the backing of the crowd, will win by unanimous decision.
