While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Till revealed his reasons for the move and who his BKFC 90 opponent will be.
Darren Till leaves Misfits Boxing
Announcing his departure from Misfits via his personal Instagram, Darren Till said:
“I’ve got a very big announcement to make: I’ve parted ways with Misfits on really good terms.”
“I’m thankful for the 12 months I had with them and the three fights I had [where] I became champion. As I said, on extremely good terms. I’ve got nothing but love for Misfits and the owners and promoters, and all of the people who work behind the scenes.
“It’s time to try my hand in something else.”
“Not a lot of people wanted to fight me,” Till said. “It was getting really hard to get fights, so in the next few days, I’m going to have a massive announcement. Some massive news. I’m sure you’re all going to be excited to see what I’m going to announce.
“And I just want to say thanks again to Misfits. Thanks to everyone involved, and I’ll probably be back there soon as well. This is not the end of it with Misfits.”
Darren Till reveals all to Ariel Helwani
Darren Till explains his decision to walk away from Misfits Boxing, when speaking to Ariel Helwani:
“We were already struggling with opponents and stuff like that inside the Misfits roster. No one really wants to fight. They were even offering people more money to fight, and people would say yeah and then say no.
“They couldn’t put another show on for a few months after that, and I was sort of like, ‘Look guys, I feel like I’m really in my prime years now… Do you mind if I go elsewhere and stay active? I’ll come back,’” said Till.
