Dillian Whyte gives brutal Wilder-Chisora verdict and predicts AJ-Wilder

On April 4, at the O2 Arena in London, Deontay Wilder vs Derek Chisora headlined an MF Pro fight card in association with Queensberry Promotions live on DAZN pay-per-view. It was largely messy, but an entertaining main event. Wilder ultimately produced the cleaner work and deserved his split decision victory.

Reflecting on Wilder-Chisora and discussing a potential Wilder showdown with Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte spoke to Fight Hub TV.

Deontay Wilder beats Derek Chisora in London slobberknocker

The main event on April 4 was the perfect example of a heavyweight slobberknocker. It wasn’t one for the purists, but it was wildly entertaining, with wild swinging, punching behind the head, and corner men running into the ring.

Wilder (45-4-1, 43 KOs) produced the cleaner work, finding a regular home for his right hand. He scored two knockdowns, with Chisora (36-14, 23 KOs) going down once in the 8th round and once in the 11th.

The American was deducted one point in the 8th for pushing, and also went down himself in the 11th, although that looked more of a slip than him being hurt by a Chisora punch.

Despite the knockdowns and point deductions, Wilder deserved the win. He got what he deserved, with the judges’ scorecards reading 115-111 Wilder, 115-112 Chisora, while the final scorecard read 115-113 Wilder, awarding the American the victory.

“I’m sure everyone that bought a ticket was happy. They got their money’s worth.”

Dillian Whyte was then asked about Wilder vs Anthony Joshua, and said:

“AJ beats Wilder, easy.”
