Fabio Wardley recalls Jermaine Franklin sparring sessions

Moses Itauma vs Jermaine Franklin is set to top the Queensberry Promotions fight card in Manchester, with Itauma weighing in at 242.1lbs ahead of Saturday’s fight with Franklin. The American weighed in at 258 lbs, which is heavier than he weighed for his last fight against Ivan Dychko.
Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) has breezed through every fight so far, most recently blowing away Dillian Whyte in the first round.
Franklin (24-2, 15 KOs) is known for his durability, having gone the distance with Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. The 32-year-old American recorded his best win last time out, defeating Ivan Dychko by unanimous decision.
Speaking to DAZN, recalling his own sparring sessions with Franklin, Wardley said:
“I’ve spent a lot of time with Jermaine Franklin. I’ve had him in as a sparring partner a number of times. When I say I have absolutely leathered that man sometimes. Hit him with the cleanest shot you could hit…
“And he’s just looked at me, nodded his head and said ‘good shot.’ He can take a punch. For me, my personal prediction I think it will just be a barrage of punches. It will work through, probably the second half of the fight.”
