Next up on the Shabaz Masoud vs Peter McGrail undercard was Conah Walker (17-3-1, 8 KOs) vs Pat McCormack (8-1, 6 KOs) for the vacant IBF inter-continental welterweight title.
In the opening round, Walker applied the pressure throughout, but the cleaner work came from McCormack. The 2020 Olympic silver medallist enjoyed a strong third round. He began to create distance and put his punches together impressively.
A well-timed body shot from Walker in the fifth round seemed to hurt McCormack. It was definitely the best round for Walker, who did well to close the distance and make it his kind of fight. The sixth round was almost punch-perfect from McCormack as he varied his punches well and moved well during the round.
When McCormack kept the fight long and worked off the back foot, it looked effortless. But the pressure tactics from Walker caused McCormack problems. The 2020 Olympic medallist showed his class in the ninth round, mixing his shots effortlessly, landing a series of eye-catching combinations, which Walker took well.

The Wolverhampton fighter showed no signs of slowing down as he continued to plough forward and pressure McCormack. The tenacity and constant pressure from Walker continued in the final round, with a number of heavy shots, knocking McCormack out of the ring. He couldn’t make it to his feet, and the referee waved the fight off. What a performance from Walker, and a stunning upset!
Sean McComb vs Hugo Micallef
In the opening fight of the night, Sean McComb (21-2, 6 KOs) defended his IBF European super lightweight title against the undefeated local fighter Hugo Micallef (11-1, 3 KOs).
It was a bright start from McComb, who took the centre of the ring and countered well throughout the first three minutes. Micallef struggled to find any joy against his southpaw opponent. A sharp left hand from McComb knocked Micallef down. He seemed to be ok after getting back to his feet, but the Northern Irishman continued to control the distance and tempo with ease.
Over the next few rounds, Micallef continued to struggle with the southpaw stance of McComb, who grew in confidence and timed his shots impressively. The brilliant combination and bodywork from McComb saw him score another knockdown, with his opponent doing well to make it to the end of the round.
The domination continued into the eighth round, where McComb landed two well-timed left hands in quick succession to score a third knockdown. Despite Micallef making it to his feet, the referee waved the fight off. McComb retained his European title via TKO.
