2025 Heavyweight boxing rankings
Our rankings consider recent performances, knockout power, skill sets, fight activity, and the quality of opponents. We also consider each fighter’s durability and their potential to contribute to this already thriving division — much like how fans seek the best sweepstakes casinos, these boxers must perform consistently and adapt to different challenges to stay at the top.
Top 5 heavyweights
#1 Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) – The undisputed champion remains the division’s benchmark. He dominated at cruiserweight before stepping up to heavyweight, defeating Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois, and Tyson Fury twice each.
A supreme southpaw, Usyk’s movement, ring IQ, and precise punching ensure he remains the number one heavyweight in the world.
#2 Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) – The 30-year-old from Ipswich has defied expectations throughout his career. With a limited white-collar background, Wardley has shown remarkable power in his professional career, recording stoppage wins over David Adeleye, Frazer Clarke, and Justis Huni.
Last time out, Wardley recorded the best win of his career against Joseph Parker, stopping the New Zealander in round 11 to win the WBO interim heavyweight title, and positioning himself as the mandatory to face Usyk.
#3 Agit Kabayel (26-0, 18 KOs) – Undefeated and technically sharp, Kabayel burst onto the world scene, stopping Arslanbek Makhmudov. His power and excellent body punching have seen the German defeat Frank Sanchez and Zhilei Zhang.
The 33-year-old will return to action on January 10, facing the undefeated Polish fighter Damian Knyba for the WBC interim heavyweight title. 2026 looks set to be a big year for the heavy-handed German. He belongs high up in our heavyweight boxing rankings.
#4 Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) – A rising British heavyweight with devastating power, Dubois has the ability to change a fight with one punch. “Dynamite” reignited his career following a defeat to Joe Joyce, winning four fights before losing to Usyk.
Wins against Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua ensured Dubois got another chance against Usyk. The Ukrainian was in imperious form, knocking Dubois down twice in the fifth, before the fight was waved off. The 28-year-old is expected back in action, with a new team behind him, with Tony Sims as his trainer and Sam Jones as his manager.
#5 Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) – The most talked about heavyweight prospect in the world. Itauma has blown away many durable fighters, including Demsey McKean, Mike Balogun, and Dillian Whyte. Itauma has dazzled the boxing world with his fast hands, slick footwork, and devastating power.
The 20-year-old southpaw has been linked with many intriguing fights, but it was recently confirmed he will headline the Queensberry Promotions Magnificent 7 card against durable American Jermaine Franklin.
