Report- Carl Frampton to return in November against Dogboe?
It looks like Northern Ireland’s “Jackal” is ready to get back in the ring in November. This after a report Thursday evening that former World Featherweight Champion, Carl Frampton has a verbal agreement to fight former Junior featherweight World Title holder, Isaac Dogbe.
The Athletics Mike Coppinger tweeted out details that Frampton, who suffered a freak injury to his left hand early last month that prevented him from being the main event fighter on a Top Rank Boxing card in Philadelphia, will be healed enough to be back in the ring in a couple of months:
Sources tell The Athletic that Carl Frampton and Isaac Dogboe have verbally agreed to fight Nov. 30 in L.A., though financial terms still need to be ironed out. The fight would be contested at a 128-pound catchweight. Crossroads matchup, two former champs coming off losses

Frampton, upset Californian Leo Santa Cruz to win the WBA Featherweight Championship in 2016, but then, lost the rematch in a disputed majority decision to Santa Cruz for his first career defeat in January of 2017.
He then, won his three fights after that, including the WBO interim featherweight Championship with a 9th round TKO over Australia’s Luke Jackson in August of 2018. However, England’s Josh Warrington defeated Frampton five months later in December of last year by 12 round unanimous decision.
Frampton was to have fought Emmanuel Dominguez in the main event of Top Rank’s show in early August. However, he suffered a freak accident injury to his left hand, while sitting in the lobby of his Philadelphia hotel fight week.
That’s when a worker bumped into a small heavy pillar that toppled over onto Frampton’s left-hand, fracturing it. The accident has sidelined him for over a month, but he will reportedly be able to begin training in a few weeks.
As for Dogboe, he is the former WBO 122 lbs. champ, who had won his first 20 pro fights before being beaten decisively in a 12 round upset loss by Mexican Emanuel Navarrete in December of last year. Dogboe wanted an immediate rematch and Navarrate dominated him, again and this time got a 12th TKO in May.
Coppinger tweeted that the fight will be at the “catch weight” of 128 lbs. (between Featherweight and Jr. Lightweight) this November, when the details are announced. That would be a risk for Dogboe, who was dominated by the taller and stronger looking Navarrete over 24 rounds in two fights.
