Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction
Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) will soon face each other once again, this time for the undisputed heavyweight championship.
Their bout headlines a Queensberry Promotions card at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Boxing fans around the world can catch the action live as a pay-per-view (PPV) on DAZN. Usyk will be putting his WBC, WBO, and WBA heavyweight world titles on the line. Dubois’ IBF belt will also be at stake.
Ahead of their July 19 contest, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.
Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2 Press Conference Quotes
Oleksandr Usyk
“Hello London. I am happy to be here again,” said Usyk. “Why will it be my night? Because I believe in this, I hope and I prepare for this fight. Listen, every one of my fights is important to me and my team. Now it is very important for me and my country, the soldiers who protect my country. It is motivation for my people. It is very important for me.”

“Listen, I respect this guy, this young guy. This guy is motivated, but I am too. I am not an old guy. 38 is not old. We will see on Saturday. It’s God’s will.”
Daniel Dubois
“Right now I just want to get it on,” said Dubois. “I am going to write my own script now. They’ve got a script and I’m going to write my own. I am going to win these belts and I am going to be the man.”

“I have been getting a lot of confidence just from my training and what I’ve done in the gym, the shots I’ve been landing on the people I’ve been sparring. All of that is inside of me and it’s built up. I am ready to let it out now.”
Fight Prediction
Part of the promotion for this fight has centred on a punch Dubois landed in round five of their first clash that was ruled a low blow. There are some who claim that if the Brit focuses on the body in the rematch, he can defeat Usyk. That being said, Dubois had nine rounds against the Ukrainian before being stopped. In that time, Usyk was outboxing his opponent. Little of what Dubois did had an impact in that fight.
Usyk should not have much trouble dealing with the IBF champion. He will have an answer to Dubois’ power and potential body punches that will come his way. Although the first fight ended in a knockout, that will probably not happen this time around. Dubois appears mentally stronger now and seems unlikely to capitulate when the going gets tough. Expect Usyk to win this via unanimous decision.
