Boxing Schedule: Three Fights You Can’t Miss in June

2025 has provided plenty of great fights already. With several intriguing bouts still to come and many rumoured matchups gaining traction, the rest of the boxing schedule looks promising. Here are three fights to look forward to for June.

Boxing Schedule: Three Fights to Look Forward to in June

Boxing Schedule: Fabio Wardley vs. Justis Huni – June 7

On June 7 at Portman Road, Ipswich, Fabio Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs) and Justis Huni (12-0, 7 KOs) collide for the WBA Interim World title. Both fighters like to come forward and engage, setting the stage for a fascinating clash of styles..

Wardley has showcased his devastating power, most recently in his demolition of Frazer Clarke in their rematch. Huni, an agile heavyweight, will use his movement and potshot to maintain distance and nullify Wardely’s power. It’s early in the month, but this contest is definitely one to circle on the boxing schedule.

Junto Nakatani vs. Ryosuke Nishida – June 8

On June 8, Junto Nakatani (30-0, 23 KOs) takes on Ryosuke Nishida (10-0, 2 KOs) in a bantamweight unification bout at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo. Nakatani’s WBC title and Nishida’s IBF belt will be on the line in this intriguing clash of undefeated southpaws.

Nakatani has impressively carried his power up from flyweight, combining fast hands, slick movement and frightening power, making him a nightmare for any opponent. Nishida won’t just be there to make up the numbers. He’s a talented fighter: defensively astute, accurate and highly effective with his jab. Against a dangerous puncher like Nakatani, his defence will need to be near perfect.

Shabaz Masoud vs. Peter McGrail – June 21

When looking at the best fights in June, the one that immediately grabs my attention is Shabaz Masoud (14-0, 4 KOs) vs Peter McGrail (11-1, 6 KOs) on June 21 at Resorts World Arena, Birmingham. The two Brits will clash for Masoud’s IBO super bantamweight title. Both fighters are excellent technicians, making this a great fight for boxing purists.

Masoud produced a career-best performance last time out, defeating Liam Davies by split decision. He boxed brilliantly off the back foot and deserved the victory. McGrail enjoyed a decorated amateur career and has made rapid progress in the pro ranks despite his shock KO defeat to Ja’Rico O’Quinn. The Liverpudlian has exceptional footwork, aiding him both defensively and offensively, and Masoud-McGrail promises to be an intriguing watch. In our view, this is the one to watch on the June boxing schedule.
