Keith Thurman vs. Brock Jarvis: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs, 1 NC) will return to boxing against Brock Jarvis (22-1, 20 KOs).

The two men headline a card promoted by No Limit Boxing and The Rose Brothers – in association with TGB Promotions – at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia. Boxing fans in the country can catch the action live as a pay-per-view on Main Event. Across Latin America, it will be broadcast on ESPN KnockOut. Those in the United States can watch using the Premier Boxing Champions YouTube channel (Disclaimer: This will be a replay and not a live telecast).

Ahead of their March 12 clash, both fighters spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

Keith Thurman vs. Brock Jarvis Press Conference Quotes

Keith Thurman

“Look, there’s been a lot of great buildup to this fight,” said Thurman.

“That little Bondi Beach fellow [Jarvis] over there, just [a] little muscle-bound bitch boy at the end of the day he ain’t never seen nothing like this. I could be 46 years old I still whoop his ass. I could be 56 years old and I still whoop his ass. At the end of the day, man, I came here to get back into the beautiful sport of boxing that I’ve loved, that I’ve dedicated my whole life to since I was seven years old and it’s just an honour, a blessing to be here, to travel the world to showcase my skills and talent live on this beautiful card under this beautiful platform and this beautiful city of Sydney…”

Brock Jarvis

“What you’re gonna hear now from the other side of this table is a lot of shit talking,” said Jarvis. “So just be prepared for that. The way this fight’s gonna go is – Keith [Thurman]‘s an old man now. He’s not the same as he used to be. He thinks he’s the same but he’s not. He’s coming off some big injuries – he’s gonna really struggle to get back in there. I’m gonna hit and I am gonna hurt him and it’s going to be interesting to see how he reacts to it.”

Fight Prediction

Thurman has gone just over three years without a professional boxing bout. He was scheduled to fight Tim Tszyu but an injury prevented him from going forth with the clash. Thurman is also 36 years old. Given his age and the injuries he has dealt with over the years, it would be easy to write him off.

However, his opponent is someone who began his career as a super flyweight. Exactly four years ago, Jarvis had not fought as a super featherweight. Given that this will be his second fight above 147 lbs, expect the Australian to struggle with his movement. This fight should end the same way as Thurman’s fight against Mario Barrios. Thurman to win via unanimous decision.
