Don Charles Reveals ‘No Brainer’ Choice
The Brit has turned his career around following losses to Joe Joyce and Usyk. Recent wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua has shown the bravery and punching power of Dynamite.
The withdrawal of Dubois left the Feb. 22 card in chaos before Bakole stepped in on late notice. Team Dubois have been quiet since the withdrawal from the Parker fight, but his trainer Don Charles has recently spoken to talkSPORT.com and revealed his fighter won’t be forced into a voluntary defence: “My answer is, I will tell the fans, it was a voluntary defence not a mandatory one. He will present a few options on the table, and then we will chose our next fight.
“In the same way that we chose Joseph Parker, we weren’t forced to take that fight.”
Daniel Dubois Next Fight: Trainer Talks Desire for Rematch
Team Dubois and the IBF champion himself have called for a Usyk rematch. Dubois entered the ring and demanded a rematch after Usyk defeated Tyson Fury for the second time.
According to Charles, a rematch with the Ukrainian for undisputed glory is what the team prefer: “Yeah he dropped Usyk legitimately but they deemed it to be a low blow,” Charles continued. “It would be great if they are able to engineer the fight and make it happen.
“That is what we will probably lean towards. It is a no-brainer. It makes sense. There is history there.
“So we would be relishing the opportunity to have a second go at Usyk.”
