Jake Paul’s Team Responds To Carl Froch’s Fight Offer

Jake Paul’s team has responded to Carl Froch’s previous comments offering to fight Paul and giving his cut of the purse to charity. Former world champion turned commentator, Froch, previously said that he would end Paul’s career in a single punch. Team “El Gallo” has said if Froch comes up with proof that he will give his cut to charity, they will have a conversation about a fight.

Jake Paul’s Next Opponent

Since Jake Paul has emerged on the boxing scene, a popular bet is who the social media influencer will face next. The current joint-favourite to step in the ring with Paul is Jorge Masvidal (equal to Conor McGregor), both at odds of +500. But, that could change in the coming weeks, with Paul set to announce his next opponent imminently, and following his team’s response to Carl Froch’s threats to end Paul’s “joke career” in a single punch. Boxing fans should be sure to take advantage of the latest betting promos to get the best odds on the match, no matter who he fights.

“The Cobra” has been outspoken over Paul’s boxing career and has called the fighter out several times. In one clip on his YouTube channel, the former world champion said he will fight for charity and that he isn’t just after a payday. He also went on to say it would be “game over” for Paul.

Paul’s team has responded by saying they are willing to have a conversation about a fight if Froch can prove his purse will go to charity. Froch retired from boxing in 2014 after beating George Groves at Wembley Stadium. He ended his career with 33 wins and 2 losses, taking 24 victories by knockout. In contrast, Jake Paul has 11 wins and 1 loss, with 7 knockouts. However, there are question marks over the calibre of Paul’s opponents.

His most recent fight came in November when he took on former world champion and boxing legend Mike Tyson. On paper, that sounds like a tough fight, but Tyson was nearly 60 and had been retired for nearly 20 years.  Before the fight, Paul was the favourite to clinch victory at odds of -235 with Tyson given odds of +190. Eventually, Jake Paul won by unanimous decision.

But, as with any of Paul’s fights, there were question marks raised over the fight with some claiming Tyson pulled his punches following an early flurry of hard hitters. Paul’s other opponents have mostly come from the world of mixed martial arts, with his only real boxing opponent being Tommy Fury. He handed Paul the only loss of his career, to date, and there are calls for a rematch between the pair. The odds of that fight taking place are, according to sportsbooks, +600.
