The October 12th Win

Beterbiev defeated Bivol on October 12th last year, in what turned out to be a largely controversial match. A 12-round majority decision win wasn’t decisive enough to satisfy fans and allow him to move on.

Two judges scored the bout in his favor while the third ruled it a draw. Additionally, many fans felt that Bivol was robbed and deserved the title of undisputed champion.
