Davis is scheduled to defend his WBA title against Roach with both fighters recently trading bold predictions at a press conference. This is due to be the sixth title defence for Davis and despite some criticism towards the making of this fight, there is intrigue with both having big followings from their native Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
This fight has encountered issues from the beginning with the original fight date of December 14 not happening with no reason given. On December 23, the fight was seemingly off the table with Davis posting via his Instagram stories: “The fight is fucking cancel”

With no comment from PBC and tickets still available for the fight, it appears the world title match-up is still on. Dan Rafael reported in his Fight Freaks Unite Substack that people involved in the fight told FFU they were unsure why Davis made the post.
