Otto Wallin feels Schwarz gave up in Fury fight
One thing about Tyson Fury’s upcoming challenger Otto Wallin you need to know is that he does not want to go out like his previous challenger, Tom Schwarz.
The undefeated Wallin (20-0, 13 KOs, 1 NC) is not only ready for the opportunity to take on Fury (28-0-1, 20 KOs) September 14th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada but expects to put forth a better effort.
“I felt that Schwarz, he could’ve had a better game plan,” Wallin said in an interview with BoxingScene.com. “And I felt that he kind of gave up in the second round. I know that he was hit with some good shots, but it looked to me like he kind of gave up after missing a few punches and all that.”

Schwarz against Fury in June was quickly dismantled in two rounds. as Fury knocked him down in the second with the towel being thrown in from Schwarz’s corner shortly afterward.
Wallin, through a string of bad luck in 2019, has not had an official match this year as an accidental head butt against Nick Kisner in April made that fight a no-contest. The next bout scheduled against B.J. Flores in July didn’t even get to happen as Flores wasn’t cleared to fight the day of.
Wallin gave Boxingscene a scouting report on what makes him different.
“I think what separates me from the others is that I have good speed and I have good footwork, and I’m a young, hungry guy,” said Wallin to Boxingscene. “And I have everything to gain and nothing to lose. So, he’s gonna know that he’s in with someone that wants to win.”
Wallin also understood the backlash when the fight was announced that he was facing the lineal champion. He isn’t paying it any mind.
“[Fans] don’t know me, so I was expecting that, with them being negative about it,” Wallin said to Boxingscene. “But I get a lot of support. A lot of people that know me, they get a hold of me and say I can do this. I’m very happy for that. I love the support, and the other guys, I don’t care so much about.”
Wallin is embracing the role of the underdog and is definitely one against Fury. Let’s hope Wallin can make it a tough challenge for Fury or at least one tougher than what Schwarz put up or lack thereof against the Gyspy King.
