Sunny Edwards vs. Galal Yafai Press Conference Quotes
Sunny Edwards
“I‘m just really, really nervous Eddie [Hearn], to be honest,” said Edwards. “You know I’m glad I got my big brother here to steal the show and take all the attention away. So, yeah man. It’s a good fight really. I know Galal is a good fighter. I’vehad a lot going on that everyone wants to speak about and the questions of where I was training, who I was training with and I’ll be real. I took the fight, I didn’t have no agreement of any trainer. I was a free agent in trainer terms and I’veknuckled down. I’ve done everything that’s been asked of me of my new trainer Chris [Williams]. I’ve got some familiarfaces around me. Some more will be joining them on fight night…I’m just excited about the fight...”

Galal Yafai
“Yeah, it’s a massive fight, you know,” said Yafai. “I think it speaks for itself. Sunny’s a great fighter. A former world champion. He’s a good name. We’ve got history as well, so it makes it a little bit more needle in it. It’s a credit to Birmingham as well and I look to put up a good performance on Saturday.”

“You know what? It’s a big challenge, obviously, and all the shit outside. I know the brothers and that having their little bit. We’re having our back and forths. Not too much, but a little. But it’s good for the people watching, the British fans. It gets people interested. It’s not what I’m used to. I’m used to going to America and fighting the unknown Mexican. But I’m [now] fighting someone that everyone rates, everyone knows, and we’ll see who the better man is on Saturday.”
Fight Prediction
Opponents of Edwards generally have a tough time landing punches on him. At his best, the former flyweight champion can move around the ring in way that makes it difficult to hit him. As a result, he tends to go the distance in fights and win comfortably on the scorecards. Yafai is an accomplished fighter in his own right but does not seem to have enough in his arsenal to outbox or stop his opponent. Expect Edwards to outbox Yafai for most of their fight before winning a unanimous decision.
