Tim Tszyu (24-2, 17 KOs) quickly made a name for himself in boxing, enhancing the strong legacy left by his father, the legendary Kostya Tszyu. He rose through the ranks quickly – before defeating Brian Mendoza to become the WBO super welterweight champion.

He suffered a bloody split decision defeat to Sebastian Fundora in March this year, which is understandable given the terrible cut on his scalp. The Australian fighter returned to action on October 19 and was demolished by Bakhram Murtazaliev in the third round of their IBF world title fight. Robert Whittaker (27-8, 10 KOs) has been a legendary figure in MMA, which has seen him win the UFC Middleweight. He is also the first Australian fighter to win a UFC championship.

He has scored impressive wins throughout his career against the likes of Derek Brunson, Kelvin Gastelum and Ikram Aliskerov. Despite losing his last fight against Khamzat Chimaev, it seems the 33-year-old will return once healed from his injuries from the Chimaev fight. “The Reaper” is a well-rounded fighter who has mixed at the top table in UFC. Whittaker will go down in history as one of the greatest Aussie combat fighters.

Skye Nicolson

Skye Nicolson (12-0, 1 KO) has enjoyed a perfect start to her professional career, winning all contests and collecting the WBC featherweight title. The exceptional Nicolson enjoyed a successful amateur career – winning a bronze medal at the 2016 World Championship. She also won a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

She picks her punches well and moves her feet brilliantly – taking her effortlessly in and out of range. Her most recent contest saw her comprehensively beat Raven Chapman by unanimous decision, with the judges scorecards reading 99-91 and 98-92 (x2), retaining her WBC title.

Jack Della Maddalena

Jack Della Maddalena (17-2, 12 KOs) competes in the welterweight division in the UFC. It was a tough beginning for the 28-year-old Australian as he lost his first two fights in MMA. He then won his next 10 fights, including a win against Ange Loosa at Dana White’s Contender Series 39.

Since beginning in the UFC, Maddalena has scored impressive wins over Ramazan Emeev and Randy Brown before his most recent success against Gilbert Burns.
