Regis Prograis Stirs Controversy at Jack Catterall Fight Presser

On October 26 at the Co-op Live Arena, Manchester, Jack Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs) returns to super lightweight action as he faces Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs) in a 12-round bout. Prograis-Catterall will be the main event of the Matchroom Boxing card shown globally on DAZN. At the final press conference, there was plenty of drama as “Rougarou” played an old recording of Catterall’s manager Sam Jones backing Prograis to defeat the Chorley fighter.

Prograis Creates Tension at Catterall Press Conference

The build-up to Prograis-Catterall hasn’t been full of too much back and forth, but at the final press conference, Prograis dropped a shocking revelation on those in attendance. The two super lightweight contenders met at the final presser, where “Rougarou” pulled out his mobile phone to play an old recording of Catterall’s manager, Sam Jones who seemed very sure that the American would defeat the Chorley man should they ever meet.

Once the recording began, it was clear Jones couldn’t deny it was him: “I like Jack, by the way, I know him very well, but I do think you’d flatten him,” said the voice on the recording.

Jones later took to X to defend the voice recording: “Firstly I was working with Regis at the time and was trying to make the Prograis Catterall fight. We can all dig messages up Regis.” Later, Jones also posted: “It was in 2021 and I was trying to convince Regis to fight Jack. I’ve got receipts of  @RPrograis in shit he wouldn’t like being brought up. It is what it is. That’s the type of man he is.”
