Takuma Inoue vs. Seiya Tsutsumi: Predictions for Each World Title Fight on October 13

Takuma Inoue (20-1, 5 KOs) and Seiya Tsutsumi (11-0-2, 8 KOs) headline the first of two cards with multiple world title fights.

Their clash is the main event of an October 13 Teiken Promotions card at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan. Boxing fans in Japan can catch the action live on Prime Video. Those in the United States can do so with ESPN+. Sky Sports+ will broadcast the card for those in the United Kingdom. The following day, boxing fans can watch the Junto Nakatani vs. Tasana Salapat card through the same outlets.

Ahead of this boxing extravaganza, Big Fight Weekend previews the first day of action – which sees Inoue defend his WBA bantamweight title against Tsutsumi in the main event.

Between the two, Tsutsumi carries the greater power, but he can be outboxed. In his fight against Kazuki Anaguchi, he would claim a unanimous decision win. However, this was only because Tsutsumi scored knockdowns in rounds four, seven, nine and ten. Otherwise, he was being completely outboxed. Inoue should have the chin to take him to the final bell. Expect him to defeat Tsutsumi by unanimous decision.

Shokichi Iwata vs. Jairo Noriega

Shokichi Iwata (13-1, 10 KOs) and Jairo Noriega (14-0, 3 KOs) fight for the vacant WBO light flyweight title. This will be Iwata’s second attempt at a world title, losing to Jonathan González for the same belt back in 2022. Since then, he has won all four of his bouts via stoppage. Noriega lacks the power to bother his opponent, so expect this to be a straightforward win for the Japanese fighter. We are backing Iwata to win by late stoppage.

Seigo Yuri Akui vs. Thananchai Charunphak

Seigo Yuri Akui (20-2-1, 11 KOs) will make the second defence of his WBA flyweight title against Thananchai Charunphak (25-1, 15 KOs). Akui won the belt with a unanimous decision win against Artem Dalakian earlier this year. He made his first title defence against Taku Kuwahara in May, winning another unanimous decision.

Charunphak’s last bout saw him win a majority decision against undefeated Japanese fighter Kento Hatanaka only two months ago. He could have the talent to spring an upset here, though it is hard to confidently say so given the level of opposition he has fought in Thailand. An Akui win via unanimous decision should be a safe prediction.

Kenshiro Teraji vs. Cristofer Rosales

Kenshiro Teraji (23-1, 14 KOs) and Cristofer Rosales (37-6, 22 KOs) will clash for the vacant WBC flyweight title. Rosales briefly reigned as WBC flyweight titlist roughly six years ago, making one defence before losing a unanimous decision to Charlie Edwards. He tried to regain the belt in 2019 but lost via technical knockout to Julio Cesar Martinez. Rosales makes for entertaining fights, so expect this one to be entertaining.

Teraji had two reigns as light flyweight champion and now moves up to win a world title in a second weight class. He should have the ability to outbox Rosales over 12 rounds. Do not expect a stoppage win, however, as the Nicaraguan has proven to be a durable fighter. Teraji to win via unanimous decision.
