Azim Reveals 2024 World Title Hopes
Adam Azim has high hopes for 2024 and beyond but must navigate past Enock Poulsen on February 3. Should he beat the Danish fighter, the Slough-born fighter is looking ahead to bigger fights in the remainder of 2024. Speaking to Sky Sports Azim said: “I think I’ll fight [Lopez] sooner or later. He’s got the world title and hopefully I can take that world title off him.”
Azim also spoke about potentially facing Devin Haney in the future, who recently dominated Regis Prograis. “If I had one person to fight I think I would fight Haney. He’s skilful. I think I’d beat him. I think I’d be too fast for him. I’d be too fast and powerful for him.” He added: “I think he lost that fight [to Lomachenko] in my opinion. Lomachenko was just levels above and too good for him.“
Enock Poulsen
Poulsen is the former holder of the European strap that Azim now holds. It’s another step up for the British fighter, who appears fully aware of the qualities his opponent possesses. “It’s going to be a good fight, it’s going to be another learning fight I reckon and hopefully, obviously, I break him down and get that stoppage,” he said. “He’s more an elusive guy, so I’ve got to break him down slowly.“
Azim looks ready to have a brilliant 2024, and the sky‘s the limit for this prodigious talent, who appears to have all the qualities to compete against the best in the world.
