Osleys Iglesias vs. Oliver Zaren fight recap

Osleys Iglesias (16-0, 15 KOs) proved to be too much for Oliver Zaren (19-1-1, 8 KOs), winning by seventh round technical knockout.

The official time of stoppage was 1:31. Iglesias remains the IBF super middleweight world champion with the win. He won the title earlier this year against Pavel Silyagin.

Iglesias started on the front foot and towards the end of round one landed a right hook upstairs that appeared to momentarily rock his opponent. Zaren was content with being on the back foot and switched stances from time to time. Despite the Dane’s best efforts, the gulf in class was apparent. Iglesias gradually broke him down with power shots.

Zaren’s resilience came to an end in round six. He was cut above the right eye and got hit with several hard shots. Zaren was first knocked down by a left hook to the head. After getting up, he was soon dropped a second time by more hooks upstairs.

At the beginning of round seven, a ringside physician examined Zaren for a long time before allowing him to continue. That only allowed Iglesias to continue to put a beating on his opponent. Eventually, Zaren’s corner threw a towel into the ring, putting an immediate end to proceedings with the Dane still on his feet.
