Oscar Collazo vs. Neider Valdez fight recap

Oscar Collazo (15-0, 12 KOs) needed just two rounds to get the knockout victory against Neider Valdez (15-4-3, 12 KOs).

The official time of stoppage was 2:35. Although Collazo is the reigning WBA and WBO minimumweight world champion, the titles were not at stake. Neither him nor Valdez made the minimumweight limit with the fight instead being sanctioned as a flyweight bout.

Collazo began the fight throwing jabs to the body and pursuing his opponent around the ring. A straight left hand to the face sent Valdez down in round two. Not long after he got up, he was dropped for the second time by a right hook to the head. Valdez got up once again, but was knocked down a third time by a left hook to the body. It was at that point that his corner indicated to the commission that they wished to put an end to proceedings, giving Collazo the stoppage win.
