Lewis Crocker recent form

Crocker (22-0, 11 KOs) had to dig deep against Conah Walker before he was comprehensively outboxed by Paddy Donovan, yet won by a highly controversial eighth-round disqualification. It felt inevitable that the rematch would be ordered, and it took place six months later at Windsor Park, with Crocker winning a split decision thanks to knockdowns in rounds three and five. Since the rematch win over Donovan, Crocker has left long-term trainer Billy Nelson to join Huzaifah Iqbal.

Liam Paro recent form

Paro (27-1, 16 KOs) suffered his first defeat, losing his IBF super lightweight title against Richardson Hitchins. The Australian has since bounced back, winning two consecutive fights against Jonathan Navarro and David Papot, leading to this IBF title challenge against Crocker at welterweight.

Lewis Crocker vs Liam Paro prediction

Crocker showed against Donovan in the rematch what an underrated IQ he has, executing the plan from Billy Nelson impressively. He’s a talented counterpuncher who punishes his opponents when they fall short. Crocker showed plenty of power early in his career and showed against Donovan that it still remains.

Paro possesses a highly effective jab, which often helps him control the distance and tempo in his fights, as does his excellent footwork. Paro looks to apply the pressure in his fights, and this will be no different against Crocker.

Crocker will need to get inside Paro’s southpaw jab and get his work off, while Paro will look to frustrate Crocker with that jab. The Belfast fighter showed his versatility in the rematch against Donovan, but it remains to be seen how the trainer switch will impact this fight. We are backing Paro to get the job done, winning a razor-close split decision.
