Bailey continued to dominate in subsequent rounds as her opponent struggled to land much of substance. Navarro appeared to have run out of ideas on how to defeat the reigning champion. The Spaniard even briefly resorted to taunting in the eighth in an attempt to make Bailey make a mistake, but it did not work on the Canadian. Round 10 saw the pair exchange wild hooks at each other, but it was still Bailey doing the better work overall. In the end, she had done enough to convince the judges that she had won.
