Jarrell Miller vs. Lenier Peró press conference quotes
Lenier Peró
“If he studied me a great deal, he’ll know that I’m a warrior and that I actually never give in,” said Peró through an interpreter. “He’s been talking a lot of bullshit, as you say in English. But that doesn’t affect my psychology in any way. It doesn’t stop me. Opponents have come before and they have never stopped me in my tracks. I’m going to go in there and break him. Like the old school fighters, [they] never spoke on social media and did their talking in the ring with their fists. That’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
“You [Miller] will be a great commentator because you love the microphone. Let’s see each other on Saturday.”
Jarrell Miller
“Listen, man, I’ve travelled the world to kick ass everywhere,” said Miller. “For him to say that he must not know my resume because some of my opponents are way better than his entire resume. I’ve put up going through hell and came back. They know in hell this Cuban sandwich isn’t beating me. We gonna turn him into arroz con pollo come Saturday night.”
“How long does it take to order a Big Mac in the drive-thru? It’s fast food, right? So we going to treat him like fast food. Get it quick, bite his ass, and send his ass home. Lunch food, baby.”
Fight prediction
From Big Fight Weekend’s Ricky Carroll: Peró is a southpaw with a great amateur pedigree. He’s a talented counter-puncher and will need to be at his best to make Miller second-guess his next move. Peró’s body work will be vital in slowing down the high work rate of Miller. The Cuban picks his punches well and wastes little.
Miller will look to get close to Peró and use his size to wear the Cuban down. Peró will need to get his body shots off as Miller comes in to slow him down. We are backing the high ring IQ of Peró to triumph via a competitive unanimous decision. Miller will make the Cuban work, but we’re backing him to come through the fire.
