This grudge match was first due to take place in 2022 before the fight was cancelled due to two failed drugs tests from Benn. His return and this fight quickly became a reality following the decision of the UK Anti-Doping and British Board of Boxing Control not to appeal the decision to lift his suspension.

Since Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) had his troubles with the boxing authorities, Eubank (34-3, 25 KOs) and “The Destroyer” have made it clear the hatred between the two is genuine. Following the now infamous egg slap at the opening presser, this fight has captured the public’s attention, with big numbers surely tuning in on fight night.

Everyone seemingly has an opinion on this fight and legendary Welsh fighter Calzaghe offered his insight when speaking to TalkSPORT: “Yeah I think it’s a tough one to call,” said Calzaghe.

“Talent-wise I think they’re on the same sort of level but size normally size wins fights, so I sort of edge with Eubank as he’s the bigger guy naturally.”
