Arthur Biyarslanov vs. Mohamed Mimoune Fight Preview

An intriguing clash between Arthur Biyarslanov (17-0, 14 KOs) and Mohamed Mimoune (24-6, 5 KOs) is set to take place in Montréal, Canada.

Their 10-round super lightweight bout headlines an Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) event at the Casino de Montréal. Fight fans can catch the action live on Punching Grace. Those in the United States can also use ESPN+. In Canada, TVA Sports will also be broadcasting the event.

Ahead of their February 6 fight, Big Fight Weekend previews Biyarslanov vs. Mimoune and looks at the undercard.

Arthur Biyarslanov vs. Mohamed Mimoune Fight Card Preview

Arthur Biyarslanov vs. Mohamed Mimoune

Since signing with EOTTM in February last year, Biyarslanov has remained active, fighting four times in 2024. The first three fights of that year all ended in stoppages without going past round four. In his final bout of 2024, Biyarslanov won a wide unanimous decision. In Mimoune, the Russian-born Canadian will be taking a step up.

Mimoune had only one fight in 2024, but it saw him stop Tyrone McKenna in five rounds. While the Frenchman does have six losses, he has never been knocked out in the professional ranks. Mimoune’s fights have almost always gone the distance, but his last three wins have all been via stoppage.

Fight fans should expect this bout to go the distance. While Mimoune can make things competitive, Biyarslanov should have the ability to outwork his opponent and win via unanimous decision. “The Chechen Wolf” has spoken about wanting a title shot by the end of the year, and defeating Mimoune would take him one step closer to that goal.

The Undercard

Among the fighters who are part of the undercard is heavyweight Bakhodir Jalolov (14-0, 14 KOs). The Uzbek is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and is now returning to the professional ranks. His opponent, David Spilmont (16-8-1, 11 KOs), is a significant underdog. That being said, it appears Jalolov is now fully committed to pro boxing, so expect the opponents to only get better from now on. Top Rank, who promote Jalolov, has also been involved in the promotion of this fight card.

One fight to pay attention to is the light heavyweight contest between Albert Ramirez (19-0, 16 KOs) and Marko Calic (15-1, 9 KOs). Ramirez is a Venezuelan boxer who has almost entirely fought outside of his home country. He is in the top five of each of the major sanctioning bodies and it will not be long before he is due a world title shot. Calic was one of the more talented amateurs to come out of Croatia but has not made much of a mark as a professional. Since a loss to Joshua Buatsi in 2020, he has only fought four times. A win for Calic would help him get his career back on track.

The remaining four fights on this card all feature boxers who have worked with EOTTM since the beginning of their careers. Among them is Christopher Guerrero (12-0, 7 KOs) who faces Dennis Dauti (25-5-2, 9 KOs) at welterweight. There is also Mehmet Ünal (11-0, 9 KOs) against Ezequiel Maderna (31-13, 21 KOs) at light heavyweight. Avery Duval (12-0-1, 7 KOs) will face Keshan Koaly (6-1-1, 2 KOs) at lightweight and Moreno Fendero (8-0, 6 KOs) takes on Edison Demaj (13-3-1, 7 KOs) at super middleweight. Each of the EOTTM boxers will be continuing their development on this card and fight fans can expect them to continue doing so for the remainder of 2025.
