Wilder-Ortiz 2 to take center stage in Vegas
Heavyweights are on display, and Deontay Wilder makes his tenth defense of his WBC title as he takes on Luis Ortiz in a rematch this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The highly promoted FOX pay-per-view contest is a rematch of their 2018 fight, which saw Wilder escape with a TKO victory in the tenth round but saw him get buzzed and have some trouble in the seventh of that contest.

Both of these two fighters have guaranteed that someone knocked out, and the latest episode of the Big Fight Weekend Podcast is all over it as well alongside the weekend’s action both there and abroad.
Lots of heavyweight talk on this one and first up on the podcast to join T.J. Rives out in Las Vegas himself is JT The Brick of Mad Dog Radio on Sirius/SM. JT lends his thoughts on the fight as well as the atmosphere surrounding this rematch as he’ll be on hand ringside for this one
Afterward, Mark Breland, one of the trainers in the camp of Deontay Wilder, follows after that and lends up his input on the strategy and gameplan WIlder will have to execute to retain his WBC title. Breland breaks down the round that shook WIlder last fight and relates it to his career and how he was able to adjust to it
Next, Antione Williams of G.O.A.T Promotions joins us from the nation’s capital Washington, D.C., with his insight and predictions for the pay-per-view. He also explains what he’s been up to traveling to the east coast from being based out of Houston.
Then, David Payne of TheBoxingWriter.uk.co talks about the Wilder-Ortiz 2 fight, of course, as well as the Matchroom Boxing card featuring WBA Super-Middleweight Champ Callum Smith taking on John Ryder out in Liverpool. Payne and T.J. also have a fun debate on where does Wilder ranks in the land of heavyweights of all-time.
Finally, Marquis Johns of this very site closes out the show with his two cents as well as the info on other cards going on, such as the MTK Global Golden Contract tournament and the Golden Boy card taking place in Fantasy Springs, California on DAZN.
Like the Premier Boxing Champions pay-per-view, it is a stacked podcast. Check it out and give us your takes and who you got this weekend.
Marquis Johns is a unknown humorist and avid boxing fan. His love for the sweet science goes back to when matches were 15 rounds and has been covering fights since closed-circuit pay-per-views. Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth is not only a quote by Mike Tyson, it's also a pretty good reminder to keep your guard up.
