Ortiz on Starting a New Chapter

Among the first questions asked by Rafael was whether Ortiz was ready to return following his health troubles.

“I feel great,” said Ortiz. “This kind of feeling that I’m feeling right now, it’s really familiar. This reminds me of when I was at my best. It’s kind of funny thinking about it because I was like ‘Man, I haven’t felt like this in a long time.’ I have a really good feeling about this [fight].”

The Texas native even stressed his desire to get back in the ring and remain active.

“Sometimes [during] weigh-in week I’m hungry. I just want to eat something. Right now, I don’t even care about the hunger. I’m not hungry at all. I just keep thinking [that] I want to fight. I need to fight.”
