Tyson Fury Reminisces on Past Glory and Names the Greatest Heavyweight Fight of All Time

Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) are set to meet on Saturday, May 18 at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh for the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF titles. The undisputed heavyweight clash – will be shown on TNT Sports Box Office, Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN PPV. The original fight date of February 17 was postponed due to a cut sustained by “The Gypsy King” in training. The cut was near the same eye he injured in the fight against Otto Wallin. As we build up to “Ring of Fire” Tyson has reminisced with Frank Warren on the Queensberry YouTube channel, and revealed what he believes is the best heavyweight fight of all time.

The Morecambe-born fighter will be aiming to make history and become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewisand the first to hold all four world title belts. “The Gypsy King” has been involved in some memorable fights over the years, and speaking to Queensberry, the WBC world heavyweight champion has revealed what he believes is the greatest fight in the history of the heavyweight division.

When watching the footage back of his third encounter with “The Bronze Bomber,” Fury said: “This [Fury-]Wilder III, I think that it was the best heavyweight fight that there has been.” 

Frank Warren Has His Say

Warren also spoke on the fight and said: “That is the best heavyweight fight I’ve been to live. I’ve seen loads of stuff over the years on TV and whatever. That’s the best heavyweight fight I’ve ever attended. Probably one of the best fights I’ve attended.”

The third fight between the two took place in 2021 and ended a memorable thrilling trilogy. Fury experienced two knockdowns in this fight, but the British heavyweight managed to knock his opponent down three times before the contest was stopped in the 11th round.
